glorious Theodore, hence they esteemed you by severing your body,

soon thrown in the fire as a sacrifice for Christ,

O intercede for us and pray for our souls.

You became a Martyr through a God-pleasing struggle and praised Christ,

by your brave fight you courageously endured the amputation of your limbs,

soon becoming a sacrifice for Christ in the fire,

and by your cause became worthy of your glory,
