Grail of Byzantium
The Saint Grail, the main relic of Christianity, is the cup of Christ that was
used at the Last Supper to give communion to apostles, and his blood was
collected into this cup after while. The works of art about this mysterious cup
suddenly appeared in the western culture at the end of XX century. Later on
this mysterious and enigmatic image, which exceeds the bounds of habitual
spirituality, personified the inaccessible ideal of Christianity.
The Grail in Crimea
In spite of the fact that there are almost no mentions about the Grail in
Christian Europe after the 1204 and that it was considered to be lost for
the sinful mankind, at the same time we can find the evidences about the Grail
in the mediaeval Crimean state of Theodoro which was founded after
Constantinople had fallen.
